Welcome to Blue Ridge Rods
Since this is a custom rod, there is nothing in stock. Begin with
e-mailing me your general requirements. I will respond with some
suggestions and my phone number. Since we need to work out quite a few
details, it is best we talk. By talking with you over the phone, I can
help you determine which components will make a rod that is perfect for
you.
If you are interested in components only, e-mail me and I will send you a
detailed quote. Again, it is best for us to talk. Feel free to call me in
the evenings, Eastern Time, at 828-267-9828.
Blue Ridge Rods are custom made for each person. For this reason, they are currently not mass produced or available at retail outlets. If you are in Hickory, NC, which is near Charlotte, NC, you are welcomed to call for an appointment to see and cast the rods in person.
After providing an exact quote for the rod, we require a $100.00
deposit. The balance is due before the completed rod is shipped. For
components, payment is due with the order.
We currently only accept PayPal, cash or checks. If paying by PayPal, 3%
will be added to the price. North Carolina residents, add 7% sales tax.
Normal delivery is three to four weeks. If we encounter any delays, questions or problems, we will contact you immediately.
Your satisfaction is guaranteed. If you are not happy with the rod,
return it for a full refund before you fish with it. Rods built on Blue
Ridge Blanks are warranted
against defects for two years. If you break the rod while fishing with it
during that period we will repair or replace it for a $50.00 handling fee. If you break
it because of misuse or neglect, we expect you to tell us, and we will repair it
for a nominal charge. We work on the theory we are honest people dealing
with honest people, and will do whatever is necessary to ensure you are happy
with the rod.
Other blanks have different warranties
from the manufacturer.
The key to not breaking rods while fishing with them is to make sure they are
securely ferruled and to not get the rod at an angle greater than ninety degrees
to a fish while fighting or landing one. When fighting strong fish, don't
hold your hand in front of the grip to get better leverage.
E-mail for further warranty details.
We only have a few 7 1/2 ft and 8 ft. 2, 3 and four weight Loomis blems left. Usually they are not quite straight enough to pass the factory's stringent quality control specifications. Other blemishes usually are in the finish or length. The blemishes do not noticeably affect performance, and the blanks are structurally sound..
